[dsn_klr650] tall windshield
Joe,
I've had the Kawi tall windshield for 5 months now and am very pleased with
it. I do like another lister said and put the plasic nuts on backwards (flat
side to screen). I was on the highway with a ninja 600 last night for about
5 miles at 110 mph indicated and all I had to do was squat down a little to
get inside the envelope. I haven't had to tighten the nuts at all since the
last installation about a month ago.
Can't say much to the brush guard issue. Depends on where you ride. I run
acerbis rally pros with spoilers and love them. They keep the wind off
better than the stockers and have saved my hands a couple times in the
woods.

I had a similar experience around that speed. It turned out that I was low
on fuel (just went to reserve) and it was hot out which in combination
created too much pressure in the tank and the bike was starving for fuel at
higher speeds. Once I was off the highway, it did fine. When I parked it,
I opened the gas tank and it was like opening a coke can that's been shaken
up! I filled the tank and took it back out, no problems. Just a thought...
The solution to that problem is to clean out your gas tank cap labyrinth
vent with some carb cleaner spray. Don't use compressed air, as it can
damage it. You tank needs to vent properly to allow air to enter as gas
leaves (Volumetric flow rate problem).
