tires again or still?

>hello, sorry about the pun but my michelins are 2/3 shot in 4000 miles and
was wondering which gripster to go with? as I understand it, there are two models, one more dirt, one more street, right? can someone reccomend one for me, mostly road riding in all weather, and tubeless tire or tube tire? I have been running the Avon AM24 tube type Gripsters for a couple of years. I get about 5500 miles on the rear and 15000 miles on the front (just changed out the original front two weeks ago). I change the tubes every other tire on the rear and every tire on the front. I carry the removed tubes for spares. The Gripsters work very well on the street. Wet weather riding on pavement is not bad. On the pavement you need to keep the pressures up around 32psi or the wear increases. These tires are very predictable, wet or dry, and stick well enough to drag the pegs if you have the ability. I don't have much dirt experience but the tires seem to do pretty well. Make no mistake, they are not knobbies! If you drop the pressures to 18-24psi, they hook up pretty good. With a little restraint and thought you can get enough traction to enjoy the ride. These are my tire of choice as I can get a set installed and balanced for $170.00 and their preformance is well above the acceptable level. Gary Bettes
