[dsn_klr650] rear spring change

Gino, The Givi E360 looks very practical and I am about to purchase one. Did you need any special mounting hardware such as the Givi Wingrack or does it mount directly on the KLR650's tail rack? From no less an authority than another residing in the Land of Enchantment, I'll throw my two cents in on the Givi luggage. It ROCKS! Plain and simple! I got mine from good old Tim Bernard. Solid mounting system, and the luggage is great. Since I only own a motorcycle for transportation, I finally came to know how to seriously grocery shop! *lol* One side case alone holds enough for a helmet, and other things, or a 12 pack of Rolling Rock and other sundries. Or a 12 pack (cans) of soda, and all the ingredients for my killer Green Chilie Stew! (Ya gotta know New Mexico to know THIS sweet stuff!) But seriously, mine fits a lotta stuff! My thoughts exactly ! + Can they ever take a beating. The scratches and Marine Tex on mine prove it. I don't believe in the top trunk. Too much weight in exactly the wrong place. Remember that Greek that could lift a cheeseburger the size of the world if he had a long enough spatula ? Go with 36 on the sides. Bogdan

Actually, I just use the side bags. I figured getting my leg around the bike getting on would REALLY suck with the top-side thing! Just a sleeping bag and a couple other things on that and the leg won't go over the top. I could do the "leg over the top near the gas tank maneuver", but it's really dodgy, and on uneven terrain, I know my non-coordinated sorry self would eat the dirt! And the Greek, was it Archimedes? I know of his war-craft such as his "Archimedes' Claw", truly a monstrous lever if there was one! Chris Astier

I have the Givi E45 and for the most part like it a lot. Did anyone else have the internal tie down thingy rip out of the plastic though? Mine did the first time I tried to put it over my own and my wife's helmets. Can you quickly & easily detach and attach the side bags? Or are they bolted on permanently?
