[dsn_klr650] rear spring change

Post by cloudhid@aol.com » Thu Jun 01, 2000 8:03 pm

>I have ordered the roessler rear spring from fred and I am looking to find >some tips for removing the rear spring without dismantling the entire bike
[Note: The following contains an unabashed plug for DSN] This is from Elden Carl's column in the last issue of Dual Sport News: ============================ KLR Shock Removal According to Ron Jensen, the rear shock on the KLR650 will come off without removing the swing arm. I tried his procedure and he s correct. The procedure goes this way: Jack the bike under the engine so the rear wheel is barely touching ground Loosen the upper shock bolt. Loosen and remove the bottom shock bolt along with the lower bolt holding the lever. Swing the Uni-Trak link out of the way Remove the upper shock mount bolt and pull the shock out the bottom ============================ Redondo Ron
