All, Attached is the e-mail and response I received this morning from AeroStitch.

Good Morning! I am interested in a Darien or Darien Light Jacket/Pant set and will be making my purchase in the next few days. I live in South Carolina so we get some cold but not much. I have read of instances were Darien gear has saved the lives of folks that would probably have been killed without protection. I am sold but I need a bit more information. I have also heard people that say Aerostich does not recommend the Darien Light gear for use on motorcycles. Is this the case? Is the armor different or is the material just lighter? Strange, you certainly get a different impression by reading their recent catalog. There they say the light would be a perfect hot weather choice. I wonder if Andy knows about this.... Kurt

Just placed my order for regular Darien and pants sans liner. Total price $736.00 shipped. Ouch but I only have one body so... Backlog is 5 weeks for the large/grey suit. Mentioned the catalog and wording about the Darien Light to the rep and she sounded like she had explained this quite a bit before. She said that the Light was for non-cycle activities and light dual sporting only. So does that mean a light dual sport motorcycle? light dual sport motorcyclist? bright light conditions? light speed? Aaah well. I didn't press the subject. Just looking forward to getting my gear. Also the MotoPort Body Guard will ship first of next week. They have the large size in stock. Fresh batch coming out of the oven apparently. Jim Jackson II A13 - South Carolina

Jim do yourself a favor and buy the liner. You will be glad you did. I live in San Diego, I am glad I did. You should also spring for the optional back armor. Morgan

Is anyone using the electric darien liner? Are you happy with it? Gino
