Testify, Brother! My grandson walked into my shop at the moment I'd finished installing my pipe and started it for the first time. He tore off tears for his momma. Arne published a test in DSN showing that at cruising speeds the Big Gun is about 5db louder than the DuperTrap IDS Quiet pipe and 6db louder than the stock pipe. It looks small on paper, but you'll notice the difference even if you're hard of hearing. Noise pollution is a serious consideration. Some consider Mozart to be bubblegum. There's no accounting for taste, but the only negative comments made to me about the sound level have been from other bikers who think that they can make some kind of case with the folks who want to ban motos from public lands. I remain skeptical of that position. I'd be willing to bet that even if it were possible to design a bike that emitted absolutely no sound at all, most of those same people would still would want your motorcycle off "their" land. Still, I want to be known as a sensitive guy of the new millennium, so I try to ride the middle ground by feathering my throttle when others are near. I must be getting old. John T. Oldepus A10>Hey Mike I can tell you for a fact that the "quiet" core is far from quiet. >Matter of fact, it is louder than shit. I do love the sound now, but in >all honesty, it is so loud it made my kids cry when I lit it up for the >first time. It sounds really neat freshly packed, but it does get loud >after a bit. The race core, however, is loud enough to not only wake >the dead, but to piss them off too. > >CA Stu A13 Many thanks to Redondo Ron for loaning them his bike for R & D so I could >juke him at the last minute.
