If you get the Kenwood freetalk make sure it's the newest full power "LH" 500mw like the one shown @ /www.cybergadgets.com/ . My co-workers and myself have been very happy with the Icom 4008a. Shown on the same page. A very useful feature in the smart ring & ATC transponder features. Lets you know if the other radio is in range etc. Reviews of many FRS radios can be found @ http://members.tripod.com/~jwilkers/frspage.html . I spent many more hours than I care to admit researching on the net which FRS radio is the best. The Icoms were the one that I found had the fewest gripes. YMMV. G. Meyer, Idaho
