the wife is at a conference in florida, so i'm left with no adult supervision at all for a week. i'm thinking about zipping up the coast and riding through the lost coast area (king range), camping up there for saturday night, then maybe coming back down through the various nat'l forests on the east side of 101 (shasta-trinity, six rivers, mendocino), and maybe camping again sunday night somewhere. i'm expecting to ride twisty pavement and fire roads/jeep trails/forest roads. possibly some light-hearted trail riding after making camp and unloading, but i'll be a long ways from nowhere, so nothing too crazy. company welcomed. i haven't ridden the areas in question, so experience and route ideas are welcome along with company. it is likely that i'll leave the santa rosa area saturday morning, and head out to the coast via cloverdale and boonville, then take hwy 1 all the way to where it turns inland, and head north on Usal road (dirt) from there, following it all the way up until i feel like camping somewhere. following day's itinerary is completely up in the air. -mark weaver
