It is a very good bike...we have a few listers who have had both the KLR600 and its sucessor the KLR650 which began the very next year. They find the KLR600 is even more stable in a lot of circumstances. The price is right, rarely will you find a larger dualsport in good shape for less than $1,500. The downside of the KLR600 as opposed to the KLR650 is an enormous difference in aftermarket support (sideracks, fuel tanks, centerstands, jet kits, silencers,...just about anything you can think of). On the other hand you can buy the KLR600 try it and see if you like it. If you wish to move in a slightly different direction you'll be in good shape if you need to sell. Kurt

I just looked at my invoice from last month. House of Motorcycles charged me $74.80 for an Avon AM24 130/80S17. Does anyone _not_ use tubes with Gripsters? I paid $8.95 for a rear tube. TomK
