[dsn_klr650] choice of side racks..help
I just got a set of Tim's SU's and can say quality is job 1.
They're awesome, and I got the 4 point option (rear bumber).
This was important to me because it makes it MUCH easier to lift and move
around on the trail and in my garage.
Today I'm parting company w/my streetbike (82 Yamaha Maxim 60K+ never a
problem).
Now I'll have room for some luggage, can anyone talk me out of Aerostitch
Dry Bags ?

Touchy subject since the manufacturers are on-list, so please respond
directly.
I currently own the Kawasaki soft bags (and like them). I don't plan
on putting hard sidebags on the bike, but am planning on mounting a
large ammo case on the back rack.
Question:
What are the current feelings/suggestions on which rack system I
should buy?
Both look adequate. Was going to go with Tim's Origionals, but have
pretty much decided I want the wrap around kind to tie to in the
back. Shoot, could use it to drag a deer out some season.
Little help...please?
Thanks for any/all input,
Dust

why would we want to? they're superb...only downside is their a tat on the small side...if you get tired of them you can sell them on this list in about 4 nanoseconds...> Now I'll have room for some luggage, can anyone talk me out of Aerostitch > Dry Bags ?
I disagree, Arne and Tim are both great guys and they're in the process of developing the maturity to appreciate that in one another. Neither started making racks to make a killing it is a labor of love. Tim finances his Christian ministries with it, Arne gets a respite from the law enforcement stresses. As for the consumers, we can help spread the word for both of them. A buyer can't go wrong with either because both of them will bend over backward to satisfy the customer and the back up their product 100%. So, let's sing their praises... I must say that the choice I recently made was to go with Tim Bernard, and
his NW rack and Givi luggage. I decided on the panniers only since I'm 5'9"
(1.75m) and getting my leg over top of a rack box would be tough. (read:
impossibble) Speaking briefly to Mr. Bernard, he was quite friendly,
helpful, knowlegeable... Ooops, I forgot, most all the folks on the list
probably know all this already!
Cut to the chase. I got in my NW rack and a couple 36 liter hard luggage
pieces. Shipping was quick, service good, and heck, the price wasn't even
bad! I just mounted them on my bike an hour ago, and I can say the fit and
finish are top-notch. It's a real beaut, the whole package together! Looks
like excursions will be made much easier now, as there won't be junk piled
sky high behind me when I go camping or on road trips.
To finish things off, Mr. Bernard had the sheer audacity to send message to
me that he was subscribing me to the Dual Sport News magazine, at his
expense! *lol* Is this customer service or what? So I get great luggage,
the mount for it, and an unanticipated subscription to a magazine that all
seem to think of as, "#1".
All good medicine,
Chris Astier

Thanks for forwarding the message Mike. I talked with Bill on April 6 and he described the heart procedure. He was very optimistic and based on that I made a "ride-in" appointment for July. He was a very interesting guy to talk to and his saddle design is a legend. Kurt> "Dominic-I hate to inform you that Bill died 5/13/00.
