valve covers with no torque wrench in canada

Post by Gord Hunt » Mon May 15, 2000 10:56 pm

I did my valve covers without using a torque wrench even though I own one. The guy I bought my KLR from stripped two bolt holes so I had to Helicoil them so when I put it back together I was worried about stripping them again. I just snugged them up by hand and went for a test ride. I figure that all they do is stop oil leaking so if it start leaking I'll know they need to be tightened a little more ! 2000 kms later and no leaks so I guess they are fine.
