Hello List!
My girlfriend is looking for a cheep bike, possibly dual-sport so she can
adventure on easy trails and can keep up with the KLR650 on highway, and is
low enough for a girl (5'2"). The goal is: light trip to Northern BC and
Yukon and possibly Alaska.
I was thinking of a electric (and possibly kick-starting) 300-400 cc DS
bike, but all of them are too tall for her. ... Lowering links could be the
solution, but I don't know enough about bikes to know which ones can be
lowered.
Any suggestions will be most appreciated.
Cheers,

what is hydro lock?
Water can't be compressed the way air can. When your motor
inhales a quantity of water, it can't turn over. The fix is
to remove the spark plug and turn the engine over until all
the water is removed. This may involve turning your bike
upside down & turning the motor by spinning the rear wheel
with it in gear. I had to do this a few times in my wilder,
younger days.
