Arne wrote me offlist to give me an update on his luggage options for the Mac-D racks, here are some excerpts of his briefing to me (he was too modest to post to the list): _________________ I've done applications for people who want to be able to bolt-on for a more permanent application. I've also done "Touratech", so a person can nterchange their Touratech luggage from their BMW to their KLR. Others are happy with the rack and their soft luggage combo. Mark Wilson uses a Chase Harper/MAC-D combo that he's very satisfied with. I'm currently doing a couple Givi's, (sorry, no photo today - maybe tomorrow)...I had to get the GIVI going, as if I were to use hard luggage again myself (sold my aluminum boxes), it would be GIVI. I like the bags alot. They come off SOOO easy and quick that it totally defeats the argument about them not being top-loading. Plus they're very well made, aerodynamic, and water-proof. Pretty tough to beat. I use 3/4" material... very strong. Touratech Quick release (18mm) works well for mounting hard luggage (use the Touratech shims to allow it to fit the larger diameter). Plans in the works to develop my own quick-release mounts designed specifically for the 3/4" stock. Unfortunately, R&D costs more money than I have right now. ___________ Kurt
