In many circumstances, it's better to keep a loose grip on the handlebars & let 'em dance in your hands. Shifting your weight rearward often helps when the going gets squirrelly. Keeping a firm butt-plant on the seat will work against you in some circumstances. This doesn't mean that you have to stand on the pegs, just raise your body up a bit. Off road riding requires reduced air pressure in your tires. Use the search feature in our list & check out "tire pressure" [without the quotes]. Also, buy a good kidney belt - it does wonders!
