[dsn_klr650] new scoot for wife, not a chain-letter or spam

Post by Denzfeat@aol.com » Mon Apr 17, 2000 1:32 pm

<< it has nowhere near the power or carrying capacity of my klr, but since it weighs 100 lbs less, i can cut it some slack >> A lot of us are looking for a street-legal ride the size of the XT225 with the power of the KLR650. When I was a kid there was a guy at the local Triumph shop in Baltimore (Boutwell's, 229 S. Broadway) who had shoehorned a T100 twin into a Cub frame. Aside from the stock Cub brakes being woefully lame, the little bugger weighed about 250 lbs, I could get my feet flat on the ground with my ass an inch or two off the seat, and if it didn't have the clearance to hop over a log, well, I could carry it on my shoulders. It was street legal and the brakes would be easy to fix. Pete the Streak of white in his hair

In a message dated 4/17/00 9:57:13 PM Pacific Daylight Time, klr650@... writes: << just bailed on Progressive to join a GMAC subsidiary, I will get more info on the name and contact information ASAP. Their quote for my A13 is $27.00 a year. WOW! >> GMAC Insurance is the new name for National General Insurance, the company that many of us use through the Rider Magazine plan. Rates are great but I have yet to have a claim and test them. Kurt Grife Avila Beach, Ca
