I can relate, I looked constantly for almost a year and a half before finding the XT225. If you widen your search to DR350SE's ('94 and later) you may have more success. I you go to the 650 level the DR650 is already an inch lower stock and can be lowered an additional inch and one half the right way...i.e,. by reducing the travel front and back.... Kurt

[dsn_klr650] extra rims

This reminds me of a funny story. While at the Thumper Rally in Salmon, Idaho I mounted up some IRC GP110 tires to replace my rapidly wearing MT21's. The MT21's still had some life in them, so I just strapped them to the back of the KLR and road back to New Mexico. Outside of Salt Lake, I stopped at a rest area. This guy came up to me and inquired about where I'd been and this and that. He saw the knobbies strapped to the bike and inquired "So, when you want to go offroad, you just stop and mount up those knobbie tires, right?" At first I thought he was joking, but then realized that he seriously thought that anytime I wanted to go in the dirt, I'd just pull to the side of the road and swap tires. Being the jokester I am, I said," yep, that's exactly what I do". He walked back to his family and I later wandered to the facilities. As I was passing his car, he and his wife were talking, "... and when he wants to travel off-road, he just pulls of to the side, changes tire! s and goes. When he gets back to the road, he changes tires again..." If only it were that easy. Gino
