It has been about what I figured. It has taken a few miles to get the grin factor going but it is going. The bike grows on you very quickly. It handles like a dream. I love the looks. People come out of the woodwork to talk to you about the Guzzi they once owned or wanted to own. It has the highest fifth gear ratio of any 5 speed Guzzi ever made...that means it was built for touring. The biggest disappointment has been the passenger seat area. As you can imagine I'm going after it with a vengence. I have an appointment with Bill Mayer in July after he's had enough time to recover form surgery. I haven't had it off-road. Tim Bernard has made a commitment to building side racks, NW racks, a luggage rack (complete with Top-of-the-Line rack), cylinder guards and highway pegs for it. That is very neat. The Wolfman Explorer looks good on the bike and holds a ton. My DualStar co-pilot won't fit with the Explorer. It is my first fuel injected bike and I wish there was another way. Lots of plumbing underneath the tank. I wonder if I'm the first US Quota owner to have the seat, tank, front fairing off...I had to luv it up a bit. First tank mileage disappointing as well 32 mpg. But already the bike is feeling differently as it loosens up. The transmission is not as bad as Toby cautioned us about...although it is a bit noisy. I haven't experienced the driveline jacking effect that Cycle World talked about. Dual Sport News is going to provide regular updates on my experience as part of a long-term test. So far, I can only say I think a love affair is beginning. Do I regret not paying the equivalent of a Y2K KLR plus $1,000 in goodies more for the BMW GS-1150? I don't think so.... Kurt
