squeaky front wheel

argh. this morning, my front wheel started making an annoying squeak. i can't tell if it's the brake or the hub, but it's definitely the front wheel revolving that causes it. it doesn't seem to make a whole lot of difference if the front brake is applied or not (except that the pitch decreases as the bike slows). anyone else have experience with such a thing, or have an idea of where to start to chase down and eliminate it? mw
