crash tested

OK So I bought my 11 year old son an 83 Yamaha MX100 this weekend. We went on an OHV powerline trail near our house ( Cleghorn ). We had a blast, I can't tell you how proud I was that my son learned how to ride a bike in 5 minutes. I decided to show off and went up this hill, It was all rutted up and hard packed with loose stuf over the top of the hard dirt. Got up it NO PROBLEM.. Was pretty fun actually.. Coming down was another story. I have read on here a couple times today about how heavy it is to pick up your KLR on a 60% and you are so right. First of all I tried to go slow.. But that wasn't happening because when I tried to slow down I just slid. So I fell over, Got up, managed to pick up the bike and tried to walk it down a little, nope, ain't happening dropped it again.. So I was almost to the bottom of this hill now, Got back up started to ride down the rest of the way A little faster I might add, because I was almost at the bottom.. Wham-O hit a rut and was picking grass outta my helmet. Didn't do too much damage, My handle bars are pointing a little to the right and I think that's gonna be easy to fix(I think).. and my mirror got pulled towards the rear of the bike, another easy fix ( I think) All in all I had a BLAST.. Well just wanted to share.. Dale Y2k KLR650 with 2110 miles ( 3 weeks old tomorrow)
