wiring help please
I purchased a new power supply for the neon on the G-Bot. One with a bit more ...omph... if you will.
It converts 24 volts to 13.8 volts.
There are 4 wires on the input (labeled thus: Red=24VDC, Black=GND, Orange= O/P CTL, White=remote CTL) and 3 on the output (Orange= +13.8VDC, Black= GND, White= remote +12V).
I just need this to be always on since the Tech 2000 music interface with trigger the neon power supply directly.
Can anyone advise on how to connect the white and orange on the input side and the white on the output side?
Thanks for any help,
Gwen B9-0027

Re: wiring help please
Gwen, without seeing the spec sheet for this converter I would guess that it will be on all the time without attaching any wires to those pins. Tell me the name of the converter and the model number and I'll try to find a spec sheet for it to confirm. Dave Schulpius

Re: wiring help please
Oops, I meant to say the orange output wire is the 13.8 volts and the white is unused...

My interpretation:
To operate unit constantly on and using the higher 10 amp power:
input:All three, red, orange and white connected to +24VBlack to -
output:white = +13.8Vblack = -orange = not used

[Attachment(s) from Gwen included below] Dave, here is a picture and a link to the application notes. http://www.powerstream.com/dc1-ap-notes.htm The way I read it I can connect the red and orange to the 24 volts, black to ground (input side) and that will make the output white the 13.8 volts an the output black to ground and the output orange is unused That sound right? border-right:none !important;} #ygrps-yiv-1358679469I purchased a new power supply for the neon on the G-Bot.

Re: wiring help please [1 Attachment]
The statement "If the low current 12 volt output is not required, the orange input wire may be tied off or connected to the white wire input." can be interpreted a few different ways.
They should have specifically stated if something should be tied high or low. It's somewhat contradictory to say that it should be "tied off" to the white wire that will be connected to +24v
You may need to write to them to ask for clarification.

Tell me the name of the converter and the model number and I'll try to find a spec sheet for it to confirm. Dave Schulpius On Oct 12, 2015 6:56 AM, "gwen4156@comcast.net [B9Builders]" wrote:

border-right:none !important;} #ygrps-yiv-1557346535I purchased a new power supply for the neon on the G-Bot.

Re: wiring help please
Attachments : Seems to be working really well with only the red and orange inputs tied to the 24 volts and the black to ground with only the orange and black outputs used (orange = 13.8 volts and black to gnd. I m going with it... Thanks Jeff! To operate unit constantly on and using the higher 10 amp power: input: All three, red, orange and white connected to +24V Black to -
output: white = +13.8V black = - orange = not used Jeff Lake From: "'Gwen' gwen4156@comcast.net [B9Builders]"

Tell me the name of the converter and the model number and I'll try to find a spec sheet for it to confirm. Dave Schulpius On Oct 12, 2015 6:56 AM, "gwen4156@comcast.net [B9Builders]" wrote:

Hey! There's No Ooops when you're working with electricity!
LOL, I'll take a look at it and see what I can see.
