Pissing on the electric fence as a kid is the right of passage for many trouble shooters I've known. Though I pass at doing the same to a lawn mower's spark plug while running. But seeing it done was about the funniest thing I EVER saw!!! Besides doing that once (or twice just to verify) is a surefire way to get you to practice the first two ways of learning. I do believe that fence in Benton La. was my first stimulas at learning electrickery. Cuz the field/woods over on the other side was where I wanted to go. And as I found not all cows very friendly... But boy could I run...

You know - this is a FUNNY statement! In all my reading on the matter, it seems that we ALL have a common ancestor in "Lucy", from Africa millions of years ago, who, I'm SURE, was dark-skinned (or black, or negroid, if you prefer), so - "White Supremacist" - kind of an oxymoron.... It's WHO you are, NOT the color of your skin! My .02$ Ed

Thank you for articulating many of my thoughts. Jeeze . . . It hasn't even gotten beyond 'Chilly' yet, and the 'Cabin Fever' messages have started already. Dude, I've seen reports that dinosaurs and man walked together. I've heard that man has never been to the moon; that it was a government plot. I met a guy that told me he had heard that aliens had anal probed his neighbor. Some say Obama is not native born, and others claim he is an terrorist, or a Muslim. However even a paragon of investigative reporting like Fox News has, despite extensive efforts, has been unable to produce any proof of these facts. Obama is Black, and for many that s all they need to justify their rants and hallucinations. The rest of the many unsupported observations spread by people with strong opinions, prejudices, or a political agenda, with no attempt to actually verify their baseless claims, is as a fine Southerner once observed "a tale. Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing. .... As a veteran, I suggest that, we try to show some respect for our Comander in Chief, and do our best to act more responsibly when we take advantage of our hard-won freedom of speech. Well, that's half right. It was a William, but not a Brit. He was from Oxford, Mississippi. William Faulkner, hard to read but well worth the effort. Ken

Actually, it WAS Shakespeare, Macbeth, Act V, Scene 5 (originally intended to apply to unmuffled Harleys). The Faulkner title is a reference.

Must be this part: Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player That struts and frets his hour upon the stage And then is heard no more: it is a tale Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing. (and we're really off on a tangent now!) Jud wrote:

Stu- Actually, within the last year there was an EBay KLR (NY, NY) with a 'Screaming Eagle' pipe on it. By the picture, it was just what you described: a straight pipe, uh, chromed straight pipe. I believe it had a video link so you could hear it as well. Seems to me the author described it as a 'bitchin-sound'. Bitchin? Hmmm. Is that a good thing? smile. It would have been hideous good fun as a 1970 teenager. During that same time period, it seems to me there was a BSA500 in my home town that was set up the same way--500cc with a straight pipe. 1970: Hideous good fun. Now-- 40 years later, it is just hideous noise. I doubt the 55 year old crowd (in 1970) appreciated it then either. Probably they would have (rightly) been bitchin about the noise. revmaaatin.
