I have just downloaded 17 messages from the list. Of these 17, ten, yes
TEN, that's T-E-N, were all about the merits or otherwise of Mr Badger and
whether or not this list needs him.
Well, I suppose it beats talking about MGs...........
Am I the only one who thinks we've lost the plot?

Battery Charging
Good morning to you all.
I think I have a problem but I'm not sure if I have a battery or a charging problem.
Yesterday the TC would barely turn over to start but did make it, then after only 10 minutes or so of running at about 1200 rpm the ammeter was back at zero. If I increased the rpms to 3000 ammeter would go about mid scale + and immediately drop back to zero. This doesn't seem right as low as the battery was at the start. Bad battery? Bad regulator? Suggestions?

Re: Battery Charging
Bud
Check the heavy-current path, that is the lugs on the battery
terminals/battery leads/starter connexion/earth braid to chassis.
If they are all good clean #tight# joints, then the battery is the next
suspect. If it's old or (like the one in my Mustang) suffering from
infrequent use, the voltage may be high - so little or no charge current -
but it's still not capable of giving the high current to start the car.
To check the battery, put it onto a charger, so you #know# it's fully
charged. Then a few hours later, see if starting is OK.
Good luck
