Not so far Thomas. I haven't checked them in a while (but then again, with over a foot of snow on the ground, there hasn't been much need...) And I didn't use Loctite on it either, so I'm a little surprised it hasn't loosened a bit. As for the spark arrestor questions/concerns, here's the response on the KLRWorld board to the question about the piece being removed: "No that is not the spark arrestor, it is the baffle. The spark arrestor is a little farther inside." Here's the link to the thread. Has lots of good pics and "options" some guys have used (including a kitchen strainer for a spark arrestor). http://klrworld.com/forums/index.php/topic,9879.0.html If the link doesn't work, just do a search for "Frugal Mod." I'm sealing mine with high temp RTV and then riveting it on. Stay tuned! eddie

I did the mod too and mine sounds very similar. Nice lower tone, but not obnoxiously loud.  Eddie When you get that thing glued on there and some rivets, please let me know how it works. I want to get one, but I'll let you be the Guinea Pig on this one. I'm thinking the damping of the hi temp silly cone and some rivets would do the trick.
