Well, The bike turned out to be true and too good. I got to the seller's house without talking to him tsince Wednesday (and he didn't have my telephone #) to find out someone had swooped in from NH on Friday nad bought the bike for $500.00 MORE than the $1,995.00 I read and discussed with the seller. The buyer sounded like a dealer with a lot of extra cash. I was told they found rust in the tank (to be fixed for $100.00), and the tires were still good. If the tires were the originals from 1988, the big KAW used some good rubber then. I forgot to ask the brand. ANYWAY, I want to take this opportunity to personally thanks EVERYONE that wrote with suggestions, ideas, and comments. ALL were excellent and have been added to my "library" for future use. Since I don't have a KLR :>( ( I won't be a regular reader here, but I'm gald I was able to locate your group. I will drop in firm time to time to "listen" in on the tech talk and conversations. ALL you guys out there ride safe and far, Soymann __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Try FREE Yahoo! Mail - the world's greatest free email! http://mail.yahoo.com/

Fellow Listers, Thank You for your responses. It feels good to know that there are other KLR riders. Although, the Motorcycle Safety Course Instructor rides a KLR, and he took it to New Foundland and back to Georgia. I just walked in the door from the bike shop. I just ordered some new Bridgestones, a Flashing brake light, spark plugs, oil, face shield and I have to find a nice way to break this news to the wife. I had intended to purchase the whole Jet kit and Super Trapp exhaust for the KLR650 A15. But, safety first. By the way i bought the Bridgestone TW 21 and TW22. I would rather be safe than sorry. The only thing is that I was "highly" discouraged from purchasing my tires over the internet. Do you have any advice on that issue. Again Thank You, RLTW !!

Sorry I m not talking about Pina Coladas What I am talking about is how my KLR buffets around in the wind. Is this solely caused by the attributes of the KLR you know, it being tall, lightweight with a large cross sectional area? Or are there things I can check that may make this situation worse? I ve played around with the front tire pressure but that doesn t seem to improve the behavior any. Would changing the fork tube height in the triple clamp effect the buffeting any? Mine are set to the maximum height possible. It seems to be worse cruising on the freeway (60 65mph) where there are large open spaces and unstable wind from the traffic. I could always slow down I guess. Thanks, Brad Davis __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Tax Center - online filing with TurboTax http://taxes.yahoo.com/

No problemo. They give you a really short form asking what the contents are, the value etc. If you want to do a canuck a favor, fudge the value a little on the low side, or say it's a gift. That'll save some tax. The recipient will pay duty on the package when they pick it up. Just a heads up - it's impossible to ship COD over the border. Kind of a pain for ebay purchases sometimes. gord

http://www.geocities.com/miatamyk/KLRParts.html Quick page I threw together for the bike parts. This gives you an idea what they look like. The original letter is below: Polished Superbrace, put on about a week before the bike was stolen. Made a huge difference in the few miles I got to play with it! It is in as-new condition not a scratch, no rust, etc.) and I paid $140+shipping. Best offer over $100. All metal bash plate. Bought at same time as above (both items from Fred Hink) and paid $75 + Shipping. This is also in as-new condition (never even got a chance to use it). Best offer over $50. Both items were shipped on 2/4/02 and installed on 2/28/02. The bike was stolen on 3/2/02. I have the receipt for both of them to whomever buys it. Also a set of Emgo bark busters. These were put on about a month before the bike was stolen. They are aluminum guards with a dark blue plastic cover, brake master protector, etc. They are in good shape with just a few minor scuffs where the theives dropped it. I paid $50 for them, best over $25. These are not in the as-new condition of the above but are still very functional. I also have two brand new (never installed) stock handguards for the '99. I bought them just before getting the bark busters. These are for a '99 and will work equally for '97-'99 (blue). $Offer? All items are in North Tampa, about even with Malibu Grand Prix between Bearss & Fletcher. Ford and Chevy put these same disclaimers on the ads showing a normal car on a normal road driving at normal speed.. what does that tell us? [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
