A 1049 TC? Wow, the TC production run was a lot longer than I thought!

Sorry Jim, I couldn't resist.

My first car is cream with burgundy interior and I am currently undertaking
the restoration of the chassis. I have completed about 90% of the tub. It
just needs a bit more body work and it needs aligning after I have the
chassis completed.

That TC of Bob & Sonja Sterling may just be the youngest TC in existence! It had to be produced in the last week of production..........must be an interesting car. Dave Osborn TC 10217

I thought they made 10,000 TCs. Then I have seen serial numbers above 10,000 in several places. How many DID they make? I have 9912, and have been telling people for years they made 88 after mine and went to TD production. Best date for mine has been chassis laid down Thursday Oct 10, finished Monday Oct 14th 1949. Paul,

There were 10,000 the last TC being TC10251, because the run started with the
prototype TC 251. This was in November 1949, don't know the day. Roger
Furneaux would know.

I have some information for the following

10234
10238
10241 belongs to Robert Sterling who is on the list.
10246
10248
10249

and

10478 this was obtained form the NEMGTR membership list for 1992. I presume
this is actually a print error. It was down to one Alfred Cherven. There are
oodles of other errors in this document.

This may be of some interest to the group....According to Roger Furneaux, who researched the car for me, the TC that I own (TC 10217) was produced on November 24th 1949. With the 30 mph warning lamp I figure it was produced as a 'home' model. So Robert Sterling's TC was probably produced within the next few days and the TC production shut down shortly thereafter. Wondering if there was anything peculiar or particular to the car, as the factory might be using up the last bits hanging around? Was it an EXU or home model? Dave Osborn TC 10217
