dupont teflon lube
I would tend to mistrust the "Dry Wax" or "chain saver" version in favor of the All Purpose Lubricant, for the same reasons that I mistrust proprietary chain lubes, including chain wax:
1. The wax based product is more likely to entrap grit.
2. Since none of these products does any useful lubricating, I want one that is free-flowing, the better to wash contaminants off the chain (the reason WD40 appears to work best to prolong chain life).

chain lube
Hi All,
Having read the posts about lubing the chain I was prompted to find my old Website that I made years ago.
I have had this system fitted to my Honda Balckbird for many years and I have also fitted a similiar system to my KLR650C.
Boths chains are wearing well. 37000km or nearly 25000miles on the Blackbird chain before replacing.
I originally used chainsaw oil but I now use discarded sump oil. It seems to work OK but the viscosity of the oils alter with ambient temperature change so that varies the flow rate.
Thirty or so years ago I could get around 15000miles out of the chain on the Suzuki GT750 by just making certain that the chain had some sort of lube on it and that was using non "O" ring industrial chain.
See the design here

I tried a Lubeman system out on my '07 Bandit for awhile but found it was collecting too much grit when running down dusty gravel roads. That was on the OEM chain which was out of adjustment at about 23,000 miles. Even though I had took the system off and run Dupont for the last 10,000 miles of it's life. The next chain on the Bandit 1250s , I ran nothing but the Dupont stuff and took it off early with over 35,000 miles on it. This is running about 5% gravel roads with it. I'm sure it I would of left it on I could of made 45,000 miles on the chain and sprockets. They were not that bad off when I changed them as a precaution.> I have had this system fitted to my Honda Balckbird for many years and I have also fitted a similiar system to my KLR650C. > Boths chains are wearing well. 37000km or nearly 25000miles on the Blackbird chain before replacing. >
