Jorgen,

Thanks for your note.

As for the troops, they're here to help, just like the police. We
welcome their presence since it's many of them that are standing in the
middle of the road directing traffic and operating the distribution of
free ice and water to anyone that needs it here (and we do - it's
blisteringly hot this time of year).

As for the poor - right now we're all poor and all being treated
equally. Tax dollars don't care who sent 'em in when they're being
spent trying to feed and shelter those that need it.

I don't doubt that Denmark is great but I assure you, with all its
faults, I wouldn't trade the USA for it.

All the best,

Gene

Dear Gene,
I followed the drama - good to hear that you are well.
However, in my part of the world (Denmark)we find this catastrophe full
of failure, disregard, scandal and carelessness against the poorer
(read: black) part of the population, which is a shame for your great
country. You can fly to the moon, invade Iraq etc. but cannot really
take care of your own back yard, except sending in the troops! The most
powerfull nation of the world? You must be able to do better - and we
will help you as well, if you accept - because you are our freinds! All
the best from Jorgen

Way to go Gene!
People here in Nashville are now housing refugees from the N.O. flooding.
Texas has taken over 243,000 folks in, and just about every State in the
Union has taken thousands of folks into private homes!
If you need anything, my truck and new enclosed trailer are at your
disposal....and I have large gas containers, so please, please let us know.
Frickin' CNN.....losers.
Best,
Ray
