This may or may not be true. I have found many a coil hooked up wrong to begin with. They work either way, although when spark demand is pushed to the limits the incorrect hook up will falter first. If you at one time bought a coil for a negative ground vehicle and put it on your positive ground TC according to the markings then it would have worked but may not be set up idealy.
