Mine has single slot screw also, but mine is a 20 years old reproduction. I have not hex bolts either. 4 flat head bolts. PTH

Bob I just pickled up a tatty Brooklands wheel TA type and the hub uses 1/4BSF nuts and bolts to hold everything together. Another log to the fire. Joe

Hi ,
The two Brooklands wheels I have have the countersunk screws; 7/8" long [,threaded 9/16".
The bolts are quite sharply pointed and the head 3/8" dia. the slot does not go beyond the edges and is deeper in the centre.
The chromed plates, held to the boss with three 4BA round headed machine screws which are so positioned that the plate only goes on in one position, are of two different types. One has the MG logo milled out the other is stamped.
