Terry, David et al,
Please find attached a photo of the "Lord Ashley" TA, as you can see it's
not the Park Ward car. This TA was built as a special order by the M.G.
works in 1938, for Lord Ashley of Offord. I know very little else about the
car except that the 16" wheels, chrome radiator slats and the fly screen are
all shown as fitted when the car left the works. In Mike Allison's book, the
car
is shown leaving the works in 1938 with Cecil Kimber and Lord Ashley
standing
next to it.
As far as I can recall the Park Ward car was originally a standard TA which
was rebodied in about 1946 by Charles Ward as he could not get his hands on
a Bentley or Rolls-Royce chassis.
