I have a fairly new Corbin that I bought with no dip and no dishing -- otherwise known as the aircraft carrier model. If you ask for that, they know exactly what you are talking about (at least the folks I talked to did). So far I'm fairly impressed with mine, though it doesn't have quite the long distance comfort I might have hoped for (though it is a big improvement over the original). I got mine with basketweave and yellow trim. Ralph Ralph Hanson 1999 KLR 650 rhanson40@... http://www.wvu.edu/~journal2/west

How much does the dip lower the seat and what sort of options do they have? (hunting for website)

www.corbin.com Not sure how much the dip lowers the seat. I'd say about an inch or two.I think the problem is with the dip just at the front of the seat, you tend to keep sliding towards it. Don Detloff Fair Haven, MI '00 KLR650 '00 Triumph Sprint RS '64 Yamaha Trail 80 ret.

Thanks Peter, it was also good doing business with you. Have fun on your trip! I think I just made my last ride to work this year on my ZRX. It was 34 degrees this morning when I left and the high was 42. It's 20 miles each way and I was a popsicle at the end of each leg. hoping for one more warm spell before I put the bikes up for winter. Happy Trails K.C.

It's better known on the list as the "dipped" corbin. Search the archives for that and you should get all the information you need. Z DC A5X A12X

I have a dipped Corbin as you describe and I love it. I am 5'6" and somewhat vertically challenged on this bike so the 1" to 1.5" that it lowers me is a great advantage especially off-road. I love it! http://users.vnet.net/deast/images/corbin.jpg ~Dennis~ A15 Concrd, NC

I posted a Corbin seat for sale about a week ago and posted it incorrectly as a flat Corbin style. I was incorrect. It is a dished style. I ordered a flat Corbin seat from Corbin's web site, they sent the dished style in error. I was so happy with the difference between the standard Kawasaki seat and the Corbin seat that I never noticed. For that I was in error and accept full responsibility. I've emailed Danny (he has as yet responded, I wonder does he have a life off the net? ... should I be getting worried, or is he out riding his bike?)and asked that he return the seat and I'll send him a complete refund plus shipping (Oh, Danny, the shipping & insurance amount you said you paid was more than you sent... and remember you said that if it was more to let you know. I never bother to ask for the difference, as I didn't think it was worth it). Danny, what did I not do that I said I was going to do except for the error about the style. Again for that I'm sorry. I replied to your emails, supplied the tracking info, and shipped it the day I received payment. You responded by posting to the group. Did you bother to call my home or work number and let me know of the problem (that I included in my emails)? NO! OK, Danny, I'm in east Texas supervising the cleanup of an oil spill and was too tired last night to check my email last night. I'll be here for a couple of weeks. However if you return the seat my wife will send you your refund. I will repost the seat to the group after I contact all the others who showed interest in the seat as I said I would to them when I replied to each individually. Sorry for the error. Gerry
