Hi there.
Recently out of the country for a while, my 2003 KLR sat for a while,
close to nine months. Prepped it for long term storage got it out new
gas, spark plug, ect, cranks, starts to go then dies. Tore the bike
apart, gets gas, good battery juice, spark, don't know what else to
look for, anyone with ideas the help would be welcomed.

Check the sidestand cutoff switch. Use something to bypass the switch and see if it will start. Worked for me. A lot of people bypass this switch permanently just so they don't have to worry about it failing and leaving you up the creek.

Might want to pull the vac line off the fuel valve on the tank, put
another one on it and see if the valve holds vac. Just finished my
neighbor's that was very hard to start and acted like it had a major
vac leak. It did at the fuel valve. opened fuel valve up, removed
spring and o ring, reinstalled without vac line (works like a normal
valve now), bike runs much better and he can transfer fuel now!!!

Hi everyone,
I have a 2006 with 12000 miles. It starts perfectly when its cold, but after
riding for a while I have to either give it gas or choke it to get it
started. Any idea what may be causing this?
Thanks
Josh
