I wish I could find the pics. They're probably on a floppy disk somewhere in the garage. And the reason the rock was able to do so much damage was because I was going about 50mph when I came across a washout. From a distance, the washout looked like a little bump in the road because the other side was ~2 feet higher than the "launch pad." Unfortunately, it wasn't until about 15' away from the ditch that I could tell the other side was about 8-10' away. Launched into the abyss, came up short, bottomed the suspension, and happened to be directly over a rock the size of a prize-winning pumpkin. I got kicked up over the handlebars, which followed me over. the guy behind me, Devon I think, crashed too, but he thinks he could have saved it if he wasn't trying to avoid running my flailing body and bike over... da Vermonster

These pictures do exist somewhere, because I can remember seeing them. Was there a video, too, or am I confusing that with something else.

It wasn't Devon. I forget his name but I think he was from near the same area as Devon. Anyway, the crash is on the NOAB Highlights 2004 DVD Scene 4 with a close-up of the damage and repair. I have kinda been overhauling the rear end on my Concours, new tire, new pads, cleaning up and installing new caliper seals, plus a new brake rotor. I went to the Kawasaki dealer and asked numb nuts there about a new rotor? He hemmed and hawed and came up with 300 or $400 buckaroos but wasn't sure. I ordered the brake pads and seals from him (which took 2 weeks to get them). Next I took my tire to Cycle Gear to be replace. Next day they called and said tire was in. In doesn't mean mounted in this case. It took them a week........but hey we had the SuperBowl Ice Storm here so maybe that was it. Fred was last to contact (but first to deliver). I called Fred and asked him about a rotor? He informed me that EBC had an aftermarket one for $157. He informed me that EBC had an aftermarket one for $157. Lot of difference from $300 to $400. Everything is back together and working perfectly. You go Fred. I always hate to get num nuts at my dealer. I like everybody else there but him. Nothing worse than being dumb (and arrogant). Thanks Fred. Criswell [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
