12v plug

I would run a ground back to the frame itself. Do you really want any possibility of electric current flowing through your steering head bearings? Alan Henderson A13 Iowa

Didn't conact a ground wire since it's grounded at the attach bolt. If I put a volt meter to it I get 12v, however when I connect anything to it, gps, cell phone and air compressor, nothing will work. If I plug in with just a 12v cig plug not connected to anything and put a volt meter to the bare wires I get 12v. What's happening, this one has got me completly baffeled. Thanks Brad 2009 KLR

<><><><><><><> <><><><><><><> Brad, Are you putting both leads of the volt meter in the outlet to measure get your reading? If you are only measuring the positive side at the outlet and using a different ground location you aren't measuring the complete circuit. I suggest you add a ground wire connected to the frame. It sounds like in your current configuration you are using the steering head bearings as part of the ground circuit. That's bad for the circuit and the steering head bearings. Thanks to all that responded. Wired the ground direct to the frame and works good. Learn something every day. Brad

Brad, Try running a ground wire directly to your battery. I'll bet that the present ground isn't that great, so not allowing sufficient amperage. Ed

a19 back on the road

Test drove the A19 today. I put a new Kenda 761 tire on the front. The front brake rotor which I had drilled out is working. I C clamped the brake leaver back over night and tapped on the brake line a few times to try to get any stray air bubbles out. The brake lever fells good. I used a MRP tire changing stand for the first time and it sure made it nice to work standing up. Tom SW Pennsylvania
