Yeah, I know. But one has to take some 'risk' in life. smile. My Texas bike (tattered flag tour-May08') had it removed to save weight, license plate attached just below the tail lamp. Gives just enough light that it gives the impression that it is illuminated; it allows you to see that the plate is covered with mud--which will get you a ticket in some places as well. Rant alert. Some guy over on ADV (Big Dog?) spoke of riding into a NM border town via a dirt road (US citizen, on the US side) and was stopped immediately--actually run off the road to get his attention. After determining that he was a legal resident, issued a ticket for a dirty plate from being on a wet road. Cop had to make it worth his while to stop them. I believe the rider thought it to be 'harassment'. Made you angry to read the post. I really felt more 'secure' that we are guarded by such mentality. For additional sad 'amusement' on the mentality of those that are guarding and legislating your protection, take a look at this snopes post. Makes me proud to be an Amerikan (spelling deliberate). http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/boxer.asp BE SURE TO WATCH THE VIDEO rant TURBO alert. I spent a day as a horse-holder for one of the US House/Rep while stationed in Spain. You are little more than a carpet-dog to these self-declared royalty--"who have worked so hard to earn the title of Senator." B. Boxer, 2009. She should have worked equally as hard in Leadership and Manners 101. revmaaatin. rant off.

Was in the auto parts store last night and noticed something new (to the store, anyway): Sylvania Ecobright headlamp bulbs. They are claiming to produce at least as much light as stock (3200k bulb temp. vs. 3100k for a regular halogen, iirc.) while consuming less power. Curious, I looked at the fine print and discovered they are rated at an average of 5 watts less than an equiv. normal bulb. Their H4 or 9003 is 50/60w hi/low and the newer KLR's H7 bulbs are rated at 50w instead of 55w each. It's not a lot. But, 5 watts to use somewhere else is something at least. Me? I have Silverstars in my 09' and like the extra light. =)
