help with trailering

Post by Robert Chay » Wed Nov 08, 2006 10:05 am

I couldn't get my canyon dancers on the KLR. I used soft straps around the handlebars by the triple clamp and subframe. I had the front suspension compressed a little more than half way and I have AirLift air bags on the rear suspension of my 4Runner. That was the only time I used the VersaHaul for the KLR. -Bobby

help with trailering

The canyon dancers should fit, it'll just be tight. Get one on, then slide the strap all the way to the outside, it should barely catch. Once it's on, it's pretty much locked down. bicycle question nklr

I use Ortlieb bicycle panniers on my KLR, tough, 100% waterproof and very light. Got mine on sale at www.rei.com but there are plenty of other places out there to get them. They hold my +20 sleeping bag, clothes, waterproofs etc. Easy on and off just lift-but easy to steal as well-no security device, plus you could slash them with a knife you were so inclined!
