I didnt use a mount. I drilled holes that fit straight into the holes
that came wtih the happy trails rack. I had to enlarge the holes
slightly to get 1/4 inch bolts through. I used lots of washers as
spacers to get a tight fit. The 20mm cans have a diagonal reinforcing
rib along both sides.

Mine are the next size larger 30mm ammocans. Funny, I couldn't find
a
match for the 20mm can my camping stuff normally gets packed into,
but
a guy had a pile of the 30 mm cans in excellent shape. Haven't seen
any since then though. I think having the N-channel to hang them at
the bottom of the SU rack and having a couple of cam-fasteners (as
found on seat tubes of mountain bikes) anchoring the boxes to the
rack
would be relatively easy to do and also fairly quick and easy to
disconnect/unmount. Still speculation until I recieve my rack and
devote some time to it. concieveably I could mount any number of
different ammocans to it as long as I drilled them out the same.
This
is all great inspiration for the spring and summer riding season. It
was nearly 70 degrees f here in Indiana today...
