recommend gps

Another vote for the E-Trex Legend. A good mount, taping the batteries together and some dielectric grease on the terminals keeps it from shutting down from vibration. If you use it a lot alkaline batteries will last about one day. I have a plug in 12 volt to 3 volt converter but have yet to modify it to survive the vibration. Garmin Roads and Recreation ( a discontinued mapping program ) works well in my area and allows transfer of data between your home computer or laptop and the Legend. Cycoactive.com and gpsnow.com are two good sources as well as gpsinfo.com In summary the Legend is probably the best bang for the buck unless you get a killer deal on something used.
