The test ride was interesting! After the first few blocks of over
controlling it, (remember, I ride a 900 lb. Wing,) I got the hang of
it, and had a pretty good time. Because of my research, I wasn't too
surprised by the mirror/handlebar vibration, figuring that I'd add bar
ends/lead shot. The one thing that did surprise me was the amount of
vibration from the gas tank. It felt like a vibrating sander held
against the inside of my legs. Now, I realize that we're talking
about a *BIG* single. There's going to be vibration, but is this
normal? I also realize that I'm coming from the Wing, which is much
smoother, but the thought of replacing the Wing with the KLR just
doesn't work. Much as I'd like, current funds just don't allow for
another bike in the stable.
Any thoughts?
Tom,
No bike on this planet runs smoother than a Wing. On you Wing the tank is
under the seat so I'm guessing that the perceived gas tank vibration is nothing
more than the fact that you just aren't use to having the gas tank between
the knees and therefor the effect became all the more pronounced in your
mind's eye.

**** **** No it was NOT a hard job. The hardest thing was being unsure of myself. But I have Eagle Mike's number and I did use it when I came to using the flywheel remover, I was afraid of breaking something using that much force on the bolt. But the only thing that broke was the flywheel from the shaft.> > the adjuster bolt. > > It was in three pieces, thankfully I found all the pieces. > > Joe A18 11300 SE Ky with a NEW DOOHICKEY > ******************************************************************** > And would you consider that a hard job to too ?
