nklr: re; '05 klr
Suzuki could do some tweaking to the VStrom (nice bike/stupid name!)
and make a pretty decent adventure-tourer. Still, I don't know how they
will get around the weight issue. The SV1000S I'm testing weighs in at
around 420 dry. Not bad for a streetbike, but a lot of heft for
offroad. Even if they did put a liter-class twin into a more
offroad-oriented chassis, I'm sure the price would have to be in the
$8-10K range. The only advantage it would have would be the ability to
more easily carry a passenger, or go faster than the law allows on the
street. That KLR is looking better every day...
Ride well,

If it's a 650, it must be an '87. 1987 model year was the first year for the KLR 650. As to price, I recently saw an '87 in N.H. that a dealer was asking $2600 for ( the guy is nuts!). On the other hand a buddy of mine just picked up a '93 for $1000 CDN. Guess I'm not much help on nailing down a fair price! Cheers, Steve A11
