cruisin' speed , 16t sprocket = lower mpg?

When front sprocket is larger, it changes the gearing so the rear wheel turns faster with the same countershaft speed, I think we all agree on that one. If the rear wheel is turning faster, that means the engine takes in less fuel to maintain that shaft rpm, which means your milage will go up. Of course riding conditions will effect that, if your lugging the engine its not really saving anything since its burning so horrible. That Jeep with the 99mpg reading.. haha nice high tech stuff there eh. Anyhow, the Jeep coasting downhill happens to be doing just that.. coasting, when its going uphill at that same speed the engine is working quite hard to maintain that speed, also the transmission has downshifted so now the engine is running at a higher rpm to maintain the speed. btw: a 3 fingered steel rake is almost required to weed that garden.
