Yup, lower air pressures will wear out a tire quicker.
24lbs ? Thats fookin nutz !! 30f 32r on twistie mountain days. 34f
36r on highway commutes .. or higher depending on weight.

Porter,
I always thought the same as you, less pressure translated to wider contact
patch. Was I surprised to find the Avon Gripster doing just the opposite.
Can't say this will work with all brands and models, but who knows.
