I don't mind a woman that's slick and slushy. You going to have time to get away to Tom's next weekend? I guess it's a bit of a drive for you. Bogdan

4 degree C, gonna go for a ride tonight and maybe a long one tomorrow to the Bike show in Edmonton. Life is good. Som much for winterizing the bike. PB Mark wrote:

y2k klr-the union is final

Post by jesbo@aol.com » Sat Jan 27, 2001 3:55 pm

For those of you who have corresponded with me and provided much wise counsel over the past several months; I have now taken unto myself a KLR. I picked up the beautiful Y2K, in my favorite army green color (after 22 years in the army what would you expect?) this morning. I was able to make the match through the Internet and all went exceptionally well. She's in show room condition with 1500 miles on her little clock and was owned by a guy down in Virginia, a pleasant 160 mile drive across the most desolate part of the state. My son Luis dug up a trailer from one of his many "I know a guy who has one of those" friends and we set out at a little after 5:30 in the dark and cold to a predetermined meeting on a bank parking lot. He rode her in tall and proud, knowing it would be their last time together. Unashamed, I made no attempt to hide my lust. After an appropriate amount of visual fondling and a quick but delightful test ride, I presented him an agreeable dowry and she was mine. The bank doors opened to notarized our bill of sale, and by 9:15 Luis and I were headed back home with the KLR merrily in tow. We made straight away for Heyser's Cycle Center of Laurel where we dropped her, a little past the lunch hour, for the required Maryland inspection. We should be street legal, her and I, by Monday or Tuesday of the coming week. At that time I fully intend to consummate this union to the hilt. And let the mods begin! Cheers, Jess Booth Odenton, MD BMW K1100LT (SPCL K) Kawi KLR650 (SPCLK2)? I need to think about this....
