I fitted what I think are MGA bearings - 22 balls as compared to 9, and 23mm
not 18mm in width (all other dimensions remains the same), so your hub has
to be machined - well worth it.

hi guys;
i don't know and i hope someone can help. i am going to replace my tc
rear wheel bearings (FAG 6208a). an internet chart shoes bearings 6208
to be the right size but they come prelubed. now, of course i want to
use modern never-need-lube bearings but i just don't know if they will
work. does anybody out there?

Given the storied history of TC rear wheel bearings, hubs, half-shaft
breakage and oil leakage onto the brakes, I would heartily recommend you
consider one of the several tapered half shaft replacements with seals and
bearings available from several on this list.

Bill,
SKF or FAG 6208-2RS is the correct pre-lubbed-sealed bearing you want, 9
balls but works just fine. . There is/was also a heavier duty version with
12 balls ( SKF-M208-2RS ) but this seems obsolete now.
Critical to have a tight axle to hub connection and a properly tightened
rear wheel bearing nut for the whole assembly to work right.
