Although I already have one of the old ones, and wear it proudly, I am sure

if you give out an address enough would come in for a new run with the

proper fasteners. We should all sport them on the cars. Howard TC 6424

The badge with the stick ons looks a total bodge up I'm afraid.

Does the TABC list, or one of us, not hold copyright of the badge to stop him selling them if there is a dispute?

" I AM SELLING BADGES DIRECT TO MEMBERS WITH THE APPROVAL OF JIM AND
WALTER"

That is not true. We have not authorized him to sell T-ABC badges.

If you decide to buy one of these badges, you should be aware that they
have no mounting nuts silver soldered to the back as do the originals, but
have bolts glued to the back.

These badges were not accepted as we do not know if the glue will hold up
under vibration and climate changes.

hi Jim - just a few thoughts;

1) If the original dies really were destroyed, that must be the fault of Hazelhurst, not us;

2) If we have just paid for new dies, they are surely our property and could be reclaimed;

3) How does he expect to sell the badges he has? Only TABC listers would want them and we are now all aware of the situation;

4) Soldering nuts on after plating would probably damge either the plating or the enamelling so is not an option.

5) The badges might be recoverable by gluing a metal plate, with c/s screws in it, across the back. The screws would be held securely and the much greater area of glue (hot-melt type?) would surely hold?

All the best for 20111 - the 75th. anniversary year of the T-type (first TA was built on 3/3/36)

Hi speaking from an ex signmakers point of view.

The lugs on the back are the correct ones that are glued on to give you a
bolt fixing and is common now in all types of hidden fixing signs and if the
correct glue is used will be stronger than the badge itself.

They are to a certain extent better than the nuts because they have more
thread and there is no possibility of screwing the bolt in too far and
damaging the front.

You bought the original tooling and therefore it is yours and should not
have been destroyed unless you were informed first.

The new ones were not the type you ordered and therefore are wrong if it had
been me i would have excepted my fault and either offered them to you at a
reduced cost or binned them and made new correct ones.

They are your copyright and therefore he cannot sell without your
permission.
