The car was discovered by me in Houston -TX about 20 years ago in not a
too good, but driving condition.
I brought it to Hamburg where it joined my wifes's 1950 TD. Did some work
on it to complete prevous owners "restoration" efforts. Recently I decided
to a complete overhaul including renewal of all woodwork and most of the
"iron" bits and pieces by a german company called Mika in northern
Germany. It took us two years but was worth it.

I sourced my TC via phone bidding at the August 1, 2009, RM Auction, which
was held at an event called Vintage Motorcars of Meadowbrook. I believe the
location of the event is near Detroit, Michigan. Best I can guess at is
that it appeared the car had been owned by a person in Michigan for about 5
or 6 years. I think the car was restored by the Oregon owner in 1999. Do you
have any contact information for Joseph Potter? I tried contacting him
with an email address that Lloyd Hendrickson found for me, but got no response.

And you can also post photos on the Yahoo site. Just go to

Looking forward to getting into this. As far as MGs are concerned I've
had 5 TCs and two PAs through the last 50 years. In 1960 bought the first
one in a basket when my folks lived in Torrance and I was a jr. up at San
Jose State college. I restored that car from bare chassis and it is now in
England. A whole mess of other cars as well in between. My present TC came
from the widow of a good friend in Newport Beach. Got it in '97

My car is stripped down to the frame. The body needs to be completely
rebuilt. I've ordered most of the wood I need and have new rear wings,
wheel wells (tubs), and rear quarters. The engine and transmission
were gone through by the previous owner. I'd like to see pictures of
other MG TA's especially of the wood frame to see were the screws go.
I don't think the battery cable is ran correctly. I'd like to see
pictures of cars without the body installed to see how the brake lines
and wiring should be mounted and routed. The bottom of my firewall
(toe plate) has a round hole with a cover plate (sort of an inspection
plate) that I don't think is original. I don't know what that was
supposed to allow access to. I also need to see pictures of various
brackets such as the fuel line switch, license plate switch, door
reinforcements, battery mounts, and etc. The seat-back has posts on
the bottom that fit into holes on the floorboard to adjust the seat.
Were some of these made without seat rails?
