I originally owned this car from the summer of 1966 until November 1968,
when I had to purchase a vehicle that would be more suitable for averaging
about 500 miles per week (it was an MG of course but a 1961 'A'). I heard
that she had been exported to the USA in the early 1970's and had tried to
locate the TC many times. I tried again this October, and thanks to the New
England T Register was successful. She was with the widow of the gentleman
that had owned her for over thirty years, and thanks to her daughter she
agreed to sell her back to me. Yesterday I collected her from the container
port of Felixstowe, and brought her home to Devon!

1947 TC 5057 (Toyota engine)
who writes:
My engine # is 0665140, which you will probably not recognize as an XPAG
engine. That's because it's a Toyota 1600 16 valve twin cam. My car is a
resurrection of junk and surplus parts which would still be languishing in storage
gathering rust and dust if I hadn't driven "Rebel Yellow" the TC built by
Roger Waters and featured in the Jan., 2001 issue of MG World Magazine. This was
on a trip to Australia in Nov. 2005. That car, as you may know, is powered
by a 345 hp aluminum Rover V8 hooked up to a Toyota Supra 5 speed gearbox. It
has an MGB rear axle with an Australian Ford Falcon diff with reinforced MGB
half shafts. It also has MGB disc brakes all round and MG MIdget rack and
pinion steering. Driving this car was one of the most thrilling moments of my
life and inspired me to do something similar although with less power. I
restored a TC (TC5783) in the early 60's and this time wanted to do something a bit
different . With the exception of the firewall, no original TC bits have
been molested or endangered in the building of this car. I don't feel too badly
about the firewall because when I got it it was a very badly bent piece,
mangled in a collision in a vintage race.
After driving Roger Waters' car in Australia, my wife, Joanne, said I didn't
speak for 2 whole days, such was the impression the car made on me. I began
building mine in April of 2006. Sadly, Walter succumbed to cancer in August
of 2006. He was a man of great spirit and enthusiasm and a lifetime member of
the South Australia MG Car Club.
My car is partially completed. In addition to the Toyota engine and gearbox
I'm using an Austin Mini rack (I happened to have one left over from building
2 MInis} and disc brakes. I have enclosed a picture of it taken about 3
weeks ago.

He purchased the car in about 1978, I help him pick it up as it was in boxes

started in putting it back on the road. He got a lot of help from the MG club
and friend. Five yrs later TC 1150 was back on the road and is still going
down the road today. I say it s 1150 but it could be 1130 as the 5 or 3 look

know about this stamping? It is a very clean and neat car to drive with lots of
