Hi all, Just out of interest, according to the inlay card of "The Very Best of Booker T & The MG's" (Atlantic Records, 1994), the name of the band was suggested by drummer Al Jackson Jr, from the make of Stax Studio chief engineer/producer Chips Moman's car.
