Yes indeed Ian! Early V8s had overdrive on 3rd. & 4th. but some people broke it (if you leave the o/d switched in and accelerate hard, it goes from 2nd. to o/d 3rd.) so the o/d was deleted from 3rd. later on. Mine is fine after 45 years, and driving the Devon lanes in 3rd. and flicking into & out of o/d is a delight! cheers Roger
