A part on my door locking mechanism needs replacing and in searching Abingdon and Moss I have learned that you must buy the whole damn lock to get the piece I need. The component is the bolt that is spring loaded on the portion of the lock that attaches to the door and inserts into the round hole on the "striker bolt". Turning the outside handle or inside handle pulls this bolt out of the "striker bolt".
A cotter pin holds it in place and it seems that this should be about a $5 part, not a new $50 lock! Anyone have a source for just the bolt?

Re: door bolt
Vic,
I think I have an old door lock in the garage - you're welcome to it if you
want it.
